LondonLove: Frank’s Cafe, Peckham

I think we can all agree on this – there is always time for some rooftop drinking. If you’re in sarf laandaan, get yourself to Frank’s Cafe in Peckham. Perched on top of the multi-storey car park, it has awesome panoramic views of the city skyline.

There are also art installations from Bold Tendencies – including this glittery number.

Franks - me

There is a wide range of yummy Greenwich Meantime ales and I had a lush cider to wash down a pot of olives and the most tasty barbecued plantain with super hot pepper sauce.

This is just the first visit of many this summer for us. If nothing else, I need more BBQ plantain!

This Weekend…

Apparently the sunshine isn’t hanging around for the weekend, sad times. I’m planning on taking it easy. I think Sunday might be a pub lunch with a few glasses of red. What about yourself? Here’s some things that caught my eye this week…

Wise words for a fortune cookie

* How cute is this DIY Party Lantern Garland via Oh Happy Day. Those guys are the best

* After spending last weekend in my fair hometown of Wigan, this rings true

* I keep obsessing over a vintage bar cart/globe bar cabinet. Mandela Towers is my inspiration

* And on the topic of bars, let’s all go to Aldi!

* I like my men like I like my coffee – in a cup. This coffee festival will wake the sluggish up on Sunday

LondonLove: The London Cocktail Club, Goodge Street

Last Friday me and the girls hit the London Cocktail Club for very belated birthday mischief and my, did we giggle.

The place is teeny tiny – a little downstairs hideaway off Goodge Street – but the tunes are cheesy and the drinks are dee-lish.

LCC custard cream cocktail

I started things off with this lush rhubarb and custard affair – how cute is the little custard cream?

LCC pornstar martini

The Pornstar Martinis were a popular choice with the gang, and super tasty.

LCC flying saucer

And how cool is this?! Flying saucers, the taste of my childhood, top off this bad boy.

We had such a fun time but be warned – this place gets mega busy so get here early or book a table.

LondonLove: Bar Kino, Hackney

So this weekend turned out to be totally fun and action packed, which I was not anticipating (I had a pesto pasta and studying weekend lined up…whoops).

One of the fun new places I went to this weekend is Bar Kino, which has just opened up in Hackney on Morning Lane.

We popped in for a quick drink before dinner (at another really cool new place on Mare Street, more on which later) – they have Kozel, Camden Pale and the Camden red beer on draught and the large wine I had came in a cute little carafe. All in all, it’s a nice addition to the neighbourhood.

kino bar

Downstairs is this huge basement with these massive murals on the wall. It would be a good place to hire out for a party.
